In this program, parents are encouraged to challenge their child's skills and level of comfort in the water beside games and relaxation. The emphasis in the 'Get Wet' program is on having fun in the water under the guidance of a trained instructor. As young participants in 'Get Wet', swimmers are taught to assimilate the buoyancy, balance and breathe control while remaining in the water. This program sets the base for the aspirants for the 'Learn To Swim' program.
GOAL: To acquaint children with water through games and other fun activities.
In the Pre-Beginner level, the emphasis is on basic water skills such as assisted and unassisted floating, blowing bubbles and retrieving items from the bottom of a shallow (3 feet) area. Pre-Beginner level includes activities that build confidence while increasing the child's comfort and feel for the water. Most participants start to feel comfortable while swimming under the water. Pre-Beginner has two age divisions; however, skills covered in the two divisions are the same.
GOAL: To get comfortable in the water and to be able to totally submerge underwater without hesitation.
In the Beginner level, the emphasis is on building confidence and a natural feel for the water. Participants remain in the Beginner level until they are able to swim freestyle while demonstrating rotary breathing. This is a level that is fairly longer than the others as the skills to be mastered are broad and varied. The Beginner level too has two age divisions and identical skills covered in both the divisions. 1992
GOAL: Learn to swim freestyle in a relaxed manner exhibiting rotary breathing.
In the Advanced Beginner level, the emphasis on solidifying competent, comfortable and relaxed breathing while remaining in the water. Freestyle and Backstroke are forms of swimming that are taught during this level of training. The Butterfly and the Breast stroke are also introduced at this level. At this stage, our trainers also work towards improving breath Control, buoyancy, balance and control of body position under water. The 'Advanced Beginner' level also has two age divisions and the training imparted in both the division is same.
GOAL: To be able to take care of yourself in water.
The students in the Intermediate level are usually able to swim to a distance unaided. Additionally, these swimmers demonstrate comfortable rotary breathing with freestyle, are competent at backstroke, and have a natural feel for the water. In this level of training the fundamentals of breast stroke and butterfly stroke are reinforced. The participants at this level are trained to improve their skills so that they can swim several laps of each stroke at a time with confidence.
GOAL: To create strong swimmers.
